Camp Akela 2019

Four families from our Pack attended Camp Akela this year with one other family planning on attending but got sick just before camp.  Camp started off very hot and muggy on Friday night and then we had Lightning and rain Saturday morning before it let way for a beautiful rest of the weekend.  Camp Akela is always very organized and runs like a clock.  We had lots of fun with BB Guns, Archers, Swimming, Boating, Building Something in Crafts (depending on your rank; birdhouse, boat, toolbox) and learning a new Skill.  One of the things I really look forward to is the Saturday night Campfire Program with skits.  Robert LaMontagne has Patches from Camp to pass out at the September Pack Meeting when we are all back together.

As a Web I, Jacob and I were able to stay for an extra night to hike to an upper camping spot to cook our own dinner, play Ultimate Frisbee, campfire and skits, and then throw Tomahawks and shoot Pellet Guns (step up from a BB Gun).  This Webelo Outpost is a little more relaxing and just go with the flow camping after following a structured Camp Akela program.  Our scouts complete and earn a number of achievements for the upcoming Scouting year.

If you have never done this camp, I would highly suggest plan on going next year!  Please see picture of attendees this year attached below in the .jpg file
